BASEBALL CLUJ - October Update

So blessed at the hearts of the Baseball Cluj Players !!!  One of the players researched the design of a pitcher's mound, and they came to practice with tools and muscles, to build a pitcher's mound.  It is the first one we know of in Romania (no other teams currently play with a mound).  It is an adjustment to pitch off the mound, but these guys have some good talent (and even better hearts).

FRIENDSHIP TOURNAMENT IN TURGU MURES.
Our team has been playing together for a little over a year.  We were matched against a team who has played together for 5 years.  We lost by one run, but WON BIG that day.  You see, we had the lead going into the final innings; however, the coach of the other team (who was screaming at his players all day) decided to bring back in a pitcher he had already pulled (not allowed to do that, according to the rules). JeJe had a choice to make:  1) make a stink over the rules 2) let it go for the sake of the witness of Jesus Christ. It was tough for our players but they walked away WINNERS that day, with heads held high; they represented the Lord and Baseball Cluj is known for our character.  The second match of the day, ended in a tie, but players from all the other teams gathered to watch and cheer us on.  You could hear the chant "Hai de Cluj!" ("Let's Go Cluj!").  In following weeks, we have received phone calls for more invitations to play in other cities (taking this in prayer, travel requires funds for the players, and much more), and JeJe was called by the coach of the first team (the one we "lost" to) and asked how he could get involved with local churches in his area to get them involved in baseball.

"but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so than no man boast before God.  But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that just as it is written, "Let Him who boasts, boast in the Lord."
1 Corinthians 1:27-31
